I though many of you may want to read a letter that I wrote to the local "Christian" radio station in my home town.
Dear Steve,
I was disappointed by the story that you allowed Lou to read during his morning program yesterday. The story was about a protestant who over came his prejudice against Roman Catholics. The story was touching but, the writer stated that his new Catholic friend had found his way to Jesus, differently than the Protestant Writer had, and that the Catholic knew more about Jesus than he did. The Writer makes the claim that although Jesus is the only way to salvation, there are many different ways to Jesus.
Are we to allowed to compromise the true Gospel in favor of developing a civilized relationship with unbelievers? The uncompromising Gospel will likely insult unbelievers due to it's exclusive nature. I assume that you are familiar with the innumerable heresies preached by the Roman Catholic Church that stand against the true Gospel that Jesus preached.
Scripture is very clear that no man comes to Christ unless the Father draw him (John 6:44), faith in Christ is a gift of God by Grace not works (Eph 2: 8,9), and faith is found only by hearing the word of Christ which is only accomplished through the preaching of That Word (Romans 10:14-17), which we now find exclusively in the 66 books of the bible. There is only one way to know Christ, that is by hearing the bible preached. There is no knowing Christ outside of the bible.
The Gospel is and always has been under attack. Many would have us believe that God's written word is no longer sufficient or exclusive in revealing Christ. Please be vigilant to preserve the faith of our fathers. Don't let KVIP continue to slide down this slippery slope.
